This online database is dedicated to the descendants of Jan Jansen Flensburg. Jan Jansen Flensburg, a Dane, immigrated to the United States from Flensburg, Germany sometime before 1679.

In the New World he married twice, both wives being of Dutch origin. Jan's life in America is still somewhat of a mystery, however records do exist of him. He had several land transactions in New York City, he is mentioned frequently in the Reformed Dutch Church and he indentured his son Mattheus in an apprenticeship to a man by the name of Rutgert Waldon in 1702.
